I like Typinator over Presto because Presto shows all results listed when you type a certain shortcut and you have to scroll down with the arrow keys and press enter to get it. The program writers () told me that they have updated it and the new one is now called Presto (which you also have to buy). The main PowerToys service runs when Windows starts and a user logs in. I had tried RapidoWrite (you have to search for the last free version) but your shortest keyboard shortcut had to be at least three characters. AutoHotkey.exe can still default to AutoHotkey.ahk in the same directory as the exe, for portable use. Searched for a Mac equivalent but nothing Changes from v1.1 to v2.0 Changes since v2.0-rc.3: Removed Documents\AutoHotkey.ahk default path and Welcome page popup, as users are no longer expected to execute AutoHotkey.exe directly. Been tearing my hair out because I use a lot of the keyboard shortcuts in AHK on WinXP.
